Whatever the cause of stress, we all need support when we are ‘stuck’ and unable to move forward.

Shiatsu and reiki are beautifully nurturing forms of support and intervention, giving you much needed relaxation and time out.

Shiatsu and reiki offers supportive, attentive touch, essential for healthy human development and especially helpful in stress related conditions.

Together, these therapies provide a clear process for working with and managing change. Treatment looks at the person as a whole and their interaction with the environment, taking into account both internal and external influences.

Shiatsu and reiki treatments can move people from a stuck position.

Breathing exercises help in letting go of physical and emotional stresses and tension, gentle holding and stretching techniques help muscles to relax, heart rate to slow down, anxiety to reduce and the mood to lift. Often the stressors are not going to go away so these therapies allow you the space to look at a situation differently and can guide you towards attitudinal or lifestyle changes, focusing on what can realistically be done.  Shiatsu and reiki are particularly helpful where there is a deep emotional reason for the stress as the relevant channels and energy centres can be worked on.

These therapies can be very supportive in anxiety, depression, or after shock or trauma.

They provide a safe space to be listened to deeply, a sense of connectedness and the opportunity for peacefulness and quiet. Physical touch  can be offered without invasion, building a trusting relationship and acceptance of where a person is at that moment. Shiatsu and reiki can offer a different perspective on illness so you can make sense of it, whilst also supporting the physical calming and relaxation of the nervous system without any side effects.

Treatment promotes clarity of thought and creativity, helping in decision making, which is especially important in times of stress or transition.
